Air Canada said it plans to resume flights on Sunday after the Canadian government intervened and forced the airline and its striking flight attendants back to work and into arbitration.

Air Canada flight attendants said on Sunday (August 17) they will remain on strike and spurn a government return-to-work order they called unconstitutional that would send them back to their duties.

“Our members will remain on strike, and we invite Air Canada back to the table to negotiate a fair deal,” CUPE said in a statement.
