A New Jersey EMT is being recognized as a hometown hero after rescuing teenagers trapped in a school bus crash on the Garden State Parkway. Matt Goldman, a Tri-Boro EMT and nursing student, was the first person to pull over and provide aid after the bus flipped over in Montvale.

A crash involving a school bus left two high school students injured Thursday afternoon in Mason County. Washington State Patrol Trooper Katherine Weatherwax said it happened along State Route 3 at Johns Prairie Road. “The school bus rear-ended a vehicle, which pushed it into oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle,” Weatherwax said.

One child was in critical condition after the school bus crashed on its way from New Jersey to New York on Monday, the mayor of Montvale said.
