Michael Strahan has spoken out following news that Deion Sanders has been battling cancer. As Parade reported, the NFL legend has been fighting a rare form of bladder cancer privately after the condition was discovered during a routine doctor’s visit earlier this year.

Deion Sanders said Monday that frequent calls from fellow cancer survivor Randy Moss helped support him through treatment.

For more than three months, Sanders was not on campus. Social media snippets revealed that he was dealing with an undisclosed medical condition. Given the previous issues with his feet — he had two toes amputated a few years ago — and compartment syndrome in his left leg, the fear was that clotting issues had returned.

Figures from around the sports world expressed a range of reactions from relief that Coach Prime was now cancer-free to gratitude for his urging of others to be proactive about their health.
