Fourth of July barbecues, beach days and boating trips can go on as planned this holiday weekend as the forecast calls for ideal weather for all outdoor activities. After parts of the state got thunderstorms Thursday night, Massachusetts residents can expect sunny and less humid weather on Friday.

For those looking to get outside and celebrate, Boston should be in for a warm and sunny Fourth of July, according to National Weather Service forecasts. “It actually looks like a pretty nice day,” said National Weather Service meteorologist Joe Dellicarpini.

There are plenty of permitted fireworks displays across the state: There will be over 70 fireworks displays in Massachusetts from July 1 to 5. Over $2 billion is spent on fireworks every year for both private and public displays, according to data since 2021 from the American Pyrotechnics Association.
