Gods and Monsters is officially in motion in theaters with the release of Superman, and the writer, director, and producer has scored big at the box office.

James Gunn is feeling "incredibly grateful" for the initial box office success of Superman and the positive reception from audiences. The filmmaker and co-head of DC Studios took to Threads on Sunday to express his appreciation after the superhero blockbuster saw an estimated global debut of $217 million.

James Gunn's Superman continues its box office journey in India, accumulating approximately Rs 33.62 crore. The film earned $12.9 million on Monday and $17.1 million on Tuesday internationally, reaching $155 million in North America.

Following the box office success of Superman, James Gunn has now shared the first official poster of Milly Alcock's Supergirl movie.

The movie — launching a new era for DC Studios — will be only the third Hollywood pic of the year so far to cross the century mark in its domestic box office debut.
