This summer, Sandler returned to the golf course with "Happy Gilmore 2," out July 25 on Netflix. Directed by Kyle Newacheck and written by Tim Herlihy and Adam Sandler, the sequel features new roles for Bad Bunny, Margaret Qualley and Benny Safdie.

In one of the most surprising turns, right after the release of the highly anticipated Happy Gilmore 2, the original Happy Gilmore seems to be departing Netflix. The first film is set to leave soon, showcasing a bizarre example of licensing issues in the streaming era.

Grading the film a B-, IndieWire quipped that "More often than not, it makes the shot" and commended Sandler on his comedic stylings, noting: "It is also often quite funny. Most of that humour comes care of Sandler, who slips back into Happy with something like grizzled ease."
