Nicki Minaj and SZA are in the middle of a public twitter feud, and if you are in a state of confusion, here's the general breakdown: On Tuesday, Nicki hopped online and seemingly took a swipe at Top Dawg Entertainment president Terrence Henderson (who manages SZA).
SZA responded by noting that Minaj has asked her for features in the past, and claimed she contributed to the song “Feeling Myself.” Minaj has a loyal fan base willing to go to war for her online. Still, many people have sided with SZA. A number of people have gotten tired of Minaj’s long list of feuds.
The beef started with SZA’s manager, Punch TDE (TDE stands for Top Dawg Entertainment, an independent record label), posting two words: “Broken Barbies,” the name of a song he was promoting by the artist iAMLYRIC. The song is linked underneath his post. After seeing the post, Nicki Minaj took it as shade towards her and responded with:
On Wednesday (July 16), the Queens rapper took to X and labeled SZA a “fake” girl’s girl, while sharing a clip of the R&B singer being interviewed at the 2018 Met Gala. In the video, the SOS performer, as well as on-site photographers, attempted to catch the attention of Rihanna as she made her grand entrance to the fashionable affair.
The tex was not sent directly to SZA and was possibly sent to SZA’s then-manager, Punch. In a series of tweets, Nicki called SZA ugly, fathshamed her, and claimed she looked and sang like she had been “stung by a bee.” Fans called Nicki out for targeting yet another female artist.
Beef has erupted online between Nicki Minaj and SZA, and Top Dawg Ent .'s Punch is stuck in the middle with no clue why. On Tuesday (July 15), Nicki continued her tirade on X, this time taking aim at Punch after he promoted a song titled "Broken Barbies" by an artist he's working with named IAmLyric.
DJ AKademiks took time out from his vacation to weigh in on the ongoing online beef between Nicki Minaj and SZA. According to Akademiks, Nicki’s negative tweets towards the singer are true and he went on to say that Nicki has been exposing the “demons” in the music industry.
