Former University of Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore made his first court appearance on Friday for allegations of assault.

Sherrone Moore led the Wolverines to a 9-3 record this season, finishing 18th in the final College Football Playoff rankings.

Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer ended all speculation Sunday afternoon alluding to potential interest in the Michigan vacancy with the Crimson Tide set to Oklahoma in the first round of the College Football Playoff next week. DeBoer was considered among the best fits for the Wolverines soon after Sherrone Moore's firing earlier this week.

ANN ARBOR, MI - A man yelling “Go Blue” and expletives about Ohio State University preceded a stabbing after a Wolverines football game earlier this month. Herbert Bertz, 46, is accused of stabbing a 34-year-old Tekonsha man after he yelled “Go Blue” and “F--- Ohio State,” according to court records.

EAST LANSING – The Michigan State University Board of Trustees formally approved the hiring of Pat Fitzgerald during its Dec. 12 meeting. Fitzgerald, who was the Northwestern University head football coach from 2006-2023, was announced as the next Spartan coach on Monday, Dec. 1. The board's vote finalizes the process.
