YouTube TV starts rolling out $20 credits over Disney-ESPN blackout — how to claim yours now
YouTube TV has begun issuing the promised $20 credits to subscribers affected by the ongoing Disney-ESPN channel blackout. The compensation comes as the distribution dispute enters its second week with no immediate resolution in sight, leaving sports fans without access to major events during peak college and NFL football seasons.
“Unfortunately, Google’s YouTube TV has chosen to deny their subscribers the content they value most by refusing to pay fair rates for our channels, including ESPN and ABC,” a Disney spokesperson told Variety Magazine in a report on Oct. 30.

ESPN is still blacked out from YouTube TV as Google and Disney are locked in one of the longest major carriage disputes in recent memory. And now federal government officials are joining the chorus of frustrated voices that a deal has not yet been reached.
Monday Night Football is nationally broadcast by ESPN and ABC under a rights deals that runs through the 2033 season. Since those channels are currently blacked out on YouTube TV, subscribers can’t stream MNF or any ESPN programming, including SportsCenter, NFL Live, or Monday Night Countdown.
