British backpackers have been warned that a popular border crossing is off-limits after fighting between Thailand and Cambodia resumed following the failure of a Donald Trump ceasefire deal

Senate president Hun Sen has advised Prime Minister Hun Manet to suspend all cross-border travel by Cambodian and Thai citizens and to protect Thai nationals from attacks by Thailand on its own people.

The former royal site of Oudong offers serene temples, historical remnants and sweeping views. It remains largely overlooked by global travelers despite growing efforts by Cambodia to promote cultural tourism.

Malaysian citizens in Cambodia are advised to avoid non-essential travel to certain places in the country for safety reasons.

According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand Newsroom, travel across the country continues normally and restrictions are limited to selected border areas.
