'That's my problem': Dak Prescott identifies real reason Cowboys lost to Carolina
Dallas' defense is catching all the heat. But Dak Prescott knows missed red-zone opportunities by the offense would have changed things in Carolina.
The Dallas Cowboys' offense has been rolling at the start of the 2025 regular season. One of the main reasons this offense has been on fire has been quarterback Dak Prescott. The pressure was on Prescott to deliver this season, and the highest-paid player in the league is currently doing just that.
Dallas dominated early and often in its latest trip to MetLife Stadium, defeating the New York Jets 37-22. Dak Prescott and the offense were rolling, while the defense had plenty of answers for Justin Fields. Below, you’ll find game coverage, photos and more from Week 5’s Cowboys-Jets showdown:
Once again, the Cowboys' defense struggled as quarterback Dak Prescott and the Dallas offense did their best to pick up the slack. Prescott finished the game with 261 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions on 25 of 34 passing.
Despite another strong performance by Dak Prescott and the offense, the Cowboys came up short and fell to Carolina, 30-27, thanks to a game-winning field goal as time expired. It's the latest setback for Dallas in what has been an up and down season. If there has been once consistency, however, it's the terrible defensive play.
The Dallas Cowboys have one of the best offenses in the NFL. Dallas ranks first in the league in total offense (406.6) and fourth in scoring offense (30.2). Quarterback Dak Prescott is second in passing yards (1,356) and tied for third in passing touchdowns (10). Meanwhile, George Pickens has 23 catches for 357 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
The Cowboys quarterback now ranks second in franchise history and is closing in on Tony Romo’s passing yards record.

Injury Report: Should fans worry that Cowboys QB Dak Prescott's throwing hand is taped up?
When watching Cowboys-Panthers today, QB Dak Prescott has his right hand/lower arm taped up a little bit. He got scratched up in practice the other day. In pregame warmups he's throwing with no issues and he even balanced the ball on his hand. He's good.
