Taylor McGregor, a Chicago Cubs reporter for Marquee Sports Network for the past seven years, announced today that she is leaving her post at Wrigley Field. McGregor shared the news on Marquee’s broadcast of the Marlins-Cubs game on Thursday alongside Jon “Boog” Sciambi and Jim Deshaies.

McGregor drew praise earlier this month for her live reporting during ESPN’s chaotic Florida State-SMU broadcast, when a power outage delayed kickoff by nearly two hours and forced her to repeatedly relay updates from the field as officials scrambled to get the game going.

ESPN’s Jeff Passan took aim at the Chicago Cubs after Milwaukee Brewers fans made their presence felt at Wrigley Field. The Brewers defeated Chicago 9-4 on Tuesday, Sept. 1, restoring their eight-game lead over the Cubs in the MLB ‘s NL Central. After the game, Passan questioned the atmosphere surrounding the matchup.

Taylor McGregor realized the timing felt right. A staple of Chicago Cubs television broadcasts since Marquee Sports Network launched in 2020, McGregor is leaving her sideline reporting role to work full time for ESPN.

The Cubs' regular-season home finale Thursday marks her last day. Marquee will look to replace her for next season. The rest of the network's crew will return.
