Make your taskbar transparent easily by toggling Transparency Effects in Settings on Windows 11. You can hide it completely by adjusting Taskbar Settings to auto-hide.

You can now use Windows 11 with vertical taskbars, though the feat requires use of a third-party app. Stardock just rolled out an update to Start11 that brings support for vertical taskbars.
