Roblox is bringing avatars old and new together under one banner, but it’s totally possible to keep the blocky, classic style with an R15 avatar.

In 2022, 1.8 billion total avatar items were sold on the Roblox Marketplace. Through 2023, the company anticipates creators — including avatar item makers — to earn $800 million.

The product weaves Roblox’s existing avatars, voice chat and camera-based facial animations together into something that could stand apart from the platform’s traditional game-like worlds.
