On Sunday, KU’s 5-2 start placed the Jayhawks in a tie for fifth in the league standings with Iowa State. Arizona stood first at 7-0 heading into a Big Monday game against Texas Tech (6-1). BYU and Houston enter the week 5-1. Iowa State and KU are 5-2, followed by UCF and West Virginia (4-3). TCU is 3-4. Nobody else has more than two wins.
Kansas ultimately led for more than 35 minutes, while K-State’s final lead came in the closing minutes of the first half. And the second-half margin was decisive, as KU outscored K-State 27-7 in the final 7:30 of the game.

Wildcats first face Utah, then the Kansas Jayhawks at Bramlage Coliseum
The Jayhawks will be playing a Buffs team that lost to West Virginia 72-61 Saturday in Morgantown, West Virgina. CU, coached by former KU guard Tad Boyle, opened Big 12 play with a 95-89 victory at Arizona State and 85-73 win over Utah in Boulder. CU then lost to Texas Tech 73-71 in Boulder and at Cincinnati 77-68.
A 27-7 run to close the game was the difference as Kansas won at Bramlage Coliseum for the first time since 2022.

Kansas men's basketball coach Bill Self released a statement after the announcement of his hospitalization Monday. Self felt under the weather Monday and was taken to the hospital “out of an abundance of caution,” the university’s athletic department said. He received IV fluids and was feeling better after that.
