Wood County deputy, DPS trooper in critical condition after officer-involved shooting
A standoff in Wood County ended in gunfire Friday evening after a suspect who allegedly shot two law enforcement officers earlier in the day was killed during a breach of his home, authorities said. Wood County is about 100 miles east of Dallas County.
Officials confirmed that a Howland officer was involved in the shooting. Earlier, Township Administrator James Pantalone, speaking on behalf of Howland police Chief Nick Roberts, confirmed the shooting happened Friday morning and added, “It’s still an active scene, and the roadway will be shut off for quite some time.

An officer shot a person in Fremont Saturday night, police said. It happened around 10 p.m. near Alta Drive and Racine Avenue.
