The massive pileup Monday morning led the Michigan State Police to close both directions of Interstate 196 just southwest of Grand Rapids near Hudsonville while officials worked to remove all the vehicles, including more than 30 semitrailer trucks.
Authorities report numerous injuries in the crash, with none believed to be fatal, after trucks and vehicles collided on the I-196 corridor.
Weather was a factor in the crash as roads are slick, and visibility was greatly reduced due to blowing and heavy snow.
A semi-truck tipped over on Interstate 80 in Iowa as winter weather moved through the area. The crash occurred on I-80 westbound at mile marker 12, south of Weston. There is no word on any injuries at this time.
