The street mural, just steps from the White House, is being removed after a Republican legislator threatened to withhold federal funding for DC unless the area was renamed "Liberty Plaza"

The shrill, metallic banging noises of a jack hammer echoed around the White House on Monday as crews started removing the large, yellow Black Lives Matter mural down the street from the president's home.

The Black Lives Matter Plaza in Washington, DC, is being dismantled. Social media was rather split in reaction to the news. A viral clip of the plaza being dismantled is making the rounds on social media.
