FRISCO, Texas -- Eight-time Pro Bowl left tackle Tyron Smith knew in his gut that the Dallas Cowboys were home when he arrived on his pre-draft visit 14 years ago back in 2011 before going ninth overall in the draft out of USC.

Tyron Smith has signed a ceremonial contract allowing the standout left tackle to retire with the Dallas Cowboys.

On Wednesday, Smith retired from the Cowboys, signing a one-day contract to end a career with eight Pro Bowls, two All-Pro teams and 2010 All-Decade honors on his résumé. He’s got a Pro Football Hall of Fame jacket awaiting him when he’s eligible in 2030.
