The 3-on-3 women’s basketball league co-founded by WNBA stars Breanna Stewart and Lynx forward Napheesa Collier debuted Friday night. The two squared off in the opening game and, fittingly, Stewart scored the first basket in league history — a baseline jumper. MIAMI — Napheesa Collier allowed herself a few moments during the player introductions Friday night before Unrivaled’s first game to take it all in.

In the league's first game, Skylar Diggins-Smith hit a walk-off 3-pointer to lift Lunar Owls BC to a dramatic comeback win over Mist BC, 84-80. In the nightcap, Rhyne Howard poured in 33 points to carry Vinyl BC to a 79-73 win over Rose BC.

New York Liberty stars were unable to withstand a fourth quarter comeback in the debut of the new 3-on-3 league.

The league will officially begin play on Friday, Jan. 18. The first game will be Collier's Lunar Owls BC against Stewart's Mist BC. It will start at 6 p.m. CT, followed by a second game at 7 p.m. CT. The Finals are scheduled to take place on Monday, March 17. The entire league season will be broadcast on TNT. TruTV and Max.
