Police said the shooting, which injured at least 40 people, was a terrorist attack targeting the Jewish community. A gunman was killed.
A mass shooting at Sydney’s Bondi Beach that has left at least 12 people dead, including a gunman, has been declared a terrorist incident. NSW Premier Chris Minns said two shooters opened fire on "a group of families" celebrating the first day of Hunnakkah at Archer Park near the beach.
Two people with guns - who police later confirmed to be father and son - opened fire at Bondi Beach in an attack targeting the Jewish community, who were celebrating the first day of the Jewish festival of lights, known as Chanukah. A total of 14 people died at the scene with a 10-year-old girl and 40-year-old man dying in hospital, police said.
