Yosemite National Park will open to visitors Saturday after officials initially warned the park would be closed due to heavy snowfall in the area, park officials said.
FRESNO, Calif. -- Yosemite National Park reopens to the public Monday morning after a nearly two-week closure. The park shut down on January 19 after storms left damage, creating hazardous conditions.
Smoke was seen rising from the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite National Park due to a faulty generator unit, but there was no fire and guests were safely returned to the hotel.
Between February 10 and 26, for a few minutes at sunset, Horsetail Fall glows like molten lava or cascading fire spilling down El Capitan. It is called the Yosemite "Firefall".
