According to The Boot Room's Graeme Bailey, Aston Villa have been handed a golden opportunity to sign Ademola Lookman after receiving contact from his representatives. The Atalanta winger has been desperate to leave the club all summer long and after seeing a move to Inter Milan break down, has now set his sights on a Premier League return.
The Villains agreed a deal worth up to £21.6 million after days of negotiations. Bailey will initially join Roma on loan before a potential permanent transfer. Roma will pay Aston Villa a loan fee of around £2.6m and cover the Jamaican international’s wages in full for the duration of the agreement.
Bailey will join on an initial loan, with Roma holding an option to buy the Jamaica international for around £19 million. Villa will receive a loan fee of roughly £2.5 million, taking the total potential value of the deal to £22 million.
