During NFL Combine week, rumors surfaced that the Seahawks and Packers had been in contact regarding a trade for WR D.K. Metcalf. Seattle GM John Schneider was asked where they stand with Metcalf and said he doesn’t know how the rumors began.

The Athletic's Jeff Howe reported Monday that "it doesn't sound likely the Seattle Seahawks would make wideout DK Metcalf available in a trade." Metcalf is entering the last year of his contract and signing him beyond 2025 will be an expensive endeavor for the Seahawks.

Seattle Seahawks beat reporter Corbin K. Smith claimed that the Green Bay Packers had “an offer on the table” to trade for Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf. Metcalf is a field-stretching receiver, a trait that the Packers desperately need in their room after Christian Watson went down with an ACL injury that is expected to cost him the first 12 or so weeks of the 2025 season.

For now all signs point to the Seattle Seahawks working out a contract extension with Geno Smith in the coming days. That doesn't mean they won't explore their other options for quarterbacks in 2025.
