The Houston-based logistics firm will operate the facility in partnership with Amazon to store equipment and components for Amazon Web Services data centers.
Amazon built the $129 million facility on land it bought from Miami-Dade County five years ago in an economic-development deal.
The company said it’s offering other jobs to workers in the facility and that 1,000 people will be employed there when it reopens in 2028.
The layoffs are separate from Amazon's broader cuts announced in January that impacted more than 16,000 corporate workers.
