Mandatory evacuations were lifted near northwest Fort Collins after a fire broke out on Thursday around noon.

A fire forced mandatory evacuations for a neighborhood near Fort Collins in Northern Colorado. Those evacuations were lifted just before 1 p.m.

Crews are still battling the Yellow Fire Thursday, but other fires across the Panhandle are now contained.

The fire located near Chilcott Road is roughly a dozen miles south of Laurel. It started Thursday afternoon and reportedly jumped a nearby roadway during the high winds.
