The Little League Baseball World Series entered into its third day on Friday in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The international and United States championship games on Aug. 23 continue to inch closer with teams trying to avoid falling into the loser's bracket. Fairfield took advantage of its opportunity to stay in the winner’s bracket of the Little League World Series. Trailing by a run with two outs in the top of the fifth inning, Fairfield took advantage of a bases-loaded walk and an error to score five runs and rally past Honolulu,

The team from Upper Uwchlan Township in Chester County, Pennsylvania, will now head to the elimination bracket.

Each of the 20 teams participating in the 2025 Little League World Series has had to overcome adversity on the way to South Williamsport. Chief among those is El Segundo Perfecto Little League of Chihuahua,

"[N]o one should be exploiting the success and failures of children playing the game they love for their own personal gain," the league said.
