Joe Flacco will start Week 1 for the Browns. Former Colorado star Shedeur Sanders continues competition for a backup role as roster cuts approach.

Flacco is entering his 18th NFL season and remains atop the depth chart ahead of his second Browns stint. The 40-year-old appeared in eight games (six starts) with the Colts last season, completing 162-of-248 pass attempts for 1,761 yards, 12 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
