The standard package includes a coiled 1.2 – 3m cable, 3m straight cable and 1.2m portable cable. All three of them feature 1/8’’ TRS jacks and the two longer ones have a thread for 1/4’’ jacks.

Comfort: (4/10) Becomes hot and painful after >30 min of use because of high clamping pressure and sub-par pads. Bass: (6/10) Bloated, bleeds into the mids, excessive in quantity, lacking in quality. Shure SRH 840 vs. Audio Technica M50X - Head-Fi.org
Feb 1, 2009 · The M50X has a touch more sub bass, the SRH840 having a tad more mid bass. For rock I found the SRH840 more fun with the mid bass really bringing out kick drums and bass lines. For certain electronic genres the extra bit the M50X had from 20hz to 40 Hz was useful. I'd say the SRH 840 has more bass. It sounds fuller.

Nov 9, 2014 · The ATH-AD700 are great for FPS gaming, but lacks bass. Your motherboard's on-board audio is somewhat decent, a Sound Blaster Z ($60 ebay), should offer some audio quality improvements. A FiiO E10K USB-DAC-Amp ($75) should also offer some audio improvement. Topping DX7s & Audio-GD NFB-11.28 & Dark Voice 336SE.

I finally built up a test jig with both left and right channels driven in parallel from the same channel of my laptop and I measured the output using a microphone connected to an oscilloscope ( yes, I have a small lab at home ).
