Aug 16, 2018 · This open-air driver design is all part of Focal’s intent of giving the user a Speaker-like experience. The Focal Elex is a bit on the heavier side though. Weighing at 450 grams, the headphone is now the heaviest in my lineup of headphones, outweighing the Hifiman HE560 and Audeze Mobius.

The Focal utopia, considered the best headphones in the world (leaving electrostatic aside) and the Focal clear considered one of the best for less than €1,500. Feb 13, 2016 · This is a review and technical measurements of the Focal Utopia open-back headphone. It is on kind loan from a member and costs US $4,000 (not a typo). The Utopia appropriately gives off a luxury feel: The comfort was excellent despite the 500 gram weight without the heavy cord. The latter is super thick and weighs 185 grams by itself.

Feb 13, 2016 · The Elex naturally follows the design of the rest of Focal line: The headphone weighs 440 grams and has inside cup dimensions of 62x55x27 (height, width, depth). Note that the driver is angled so the cup depth varies. Overall comfort was excellent. The owner must have a similar shape to my face and head as to have worn off the pads just right.

A little Mid-Forward (easily remedied using basic EQ. Overview: the Elegia was Focal first high end. closed-back headphone, followed by the Celestee and Stellia, selling for about $1400AUD ($900USD).

The headphones themselves only differ in color and are tuned the same. They only differ by the included cables, I believe. This Focal has been on the market for a few years now, a headphone that sold for no less than €1,400-€1,500 and had that price until the end of 2021 when it was reduced to around €1,000.
