After the Revolutionary War, George Washington and his fellow Revolutionary War veterans worked to build new private and public institutions. One of the public institutions was the Alexandria Academy. Dr. William Brown, Revolutionary War physician, led a Board of Trustees comprised of other Revolutionary War veterans to help start the free school for orphan children in 1785. George Washington pledged an annual payment of £50. When Washington died in 1799, he left 20 shares of Bank of Alexandria

Relaxing on a VIA train bound for Ottawa and sipping on mint tea. Earlier I was chased by a racoon and ran away. I tripped, fell on the ground and my scream frightened the racoon away.
