🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 LIME CORDIAL 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 The best known and OG lime cordial, ‘Rose’s’, was invented by Lachlan Rose, a ship chandler from Leith in Edinburgh. Due to the high Vitamin C content, lime juice preserved with rum was given to sailors in the British Navy to prevent and cure Scurvy. Rose realised in 1865 that preserving with sugar opened up a larger market and had patented his method in 1867. It was the world’s first commercially produced fruit concentrate.
