A Maui mother is demanding the Hawaii Department of Education do a better job of keeping kids safe at school after her 15-year-old daughter was assaulted on campus last week. Kamai Apo said her daughter, who has a developmental delay, was punched and thrown to the ground at Kūlanihāko’i High School in Kihei while other students watched and recorded the incident.
