OHA is stepping up to help our Native Hawaiian beneficiaries facing hardship from the ongoing federal government shutdown. We are committing $6.1 million in emergency relief funds to provide immediate, one-time financial assistance to those most affected - especially those losing SNAP benefits or federal pay. The OHA Board of Trustees will be meeting on Thursday, 11/6 in Hilo at 9:00 - 11:30 am. Administration will propose program details to disperse the emergency funds for federal workers and SNAP recipients that are effected by the government shutdown. Beneficiaries must have an Hawaiian Registry Card to be eligible for OHA benefits and programs - OHA.org/HawaiianRegsistry.
