How marine reptiles moved from land to sea

An epic find today — rescued from the beach at low tide 🌊 Three articulated ichthyosaur vertebrae with a fourth stuck on the side 🦴 These are the backbones of a marine reptile that swam the Jurassic seas near Whitby around 180 million years ago. It looks like it’s been out of the cliff for a while, but I’ll clean it up using air abrasion to remove the sea growth. Dense chunks of 95 million year old marine reptile bone loose on the shore this afternoon in this small block of grey chalk!
