After the BC Human Rights Tribunal ordered former Chilliwack school trustee Barry Neufeld to pay $750,000 over public comments they ruled violated the Human Rights Code, Cleese said he’s planning a Canadian tour but won’t risk doing any shows in BC. My favourite Fawlty Towers moment, in honor of the show’s 47th Anniversary this week. At the end of the Duck episode, Basil finally presents the covered dish to the diners, lifts the lid off, realises it’s not the duck, puts the lid on immediately….then takes it off again and searches in the mousse, in case the duck is somewhere inside. I can’t remember whether this was in the original script, or whether we invented it on the night, but I love Basil’s refusal to give up even when things are not
