At the 1988 Seoul Olympics, the opening ceremony was supposed to be a symbol of peace and unity. Hundreds of white doves were released into the stadium, following Olympic tradition. But things went tragically wrong when several of the birds perched on the Olympic cauldron just before the torch was lit.
